Ancillary Product No.2

The next subsidiary product on the brief is to make a CD or DVD cover. I'm going to make a CD cover instead of a DVD cover.

To create the CD cover I'm going to look at existing CD covers to find out which conventions are used, I'm going to see which conventions I can use when creating my own CD cover. I'll look at Lady GaGa existing CD covers as she is the artist I am using as the main influence in my coursework. I'm going to be doing a textual analysis on each CD cover, to once again get some idea of the conventions are used, how the image is used and what colour schemes are used.

By doing a textual analysis, I'll have some idea of what conventions to put on my own CD cover.

The conventions of a CD cover are;
a front CD cover which will include a image, a main title which will have the artist's name and the title of the CD.
a spine which will include the artist's name and the title of the CD.
a back cover which will include a image, the artist's name, track listing, the producers name, a website for the artist and a logo for the website.
another spine which will include the artist's name and the title of the CD.
a extra panel which usually has the producer's name and image's of the artist.
inside panels which usually include image's of the artist or screenshots from the video.
