Ancillary Product No.1

The brief which I have been given to work with, says that I must also create two subsidiary products as well as my main product.
The first subsidiary product I am going to create is; a magazine advertisement for the music video.
The magazine advertisement is obviously going to be promoting the release of the music video, the advertisement must follow the same conventions as the music video does. For example the magazine advertisement must have the same colour scheme that the music video does and also the advertisement must have the same people on the actual advertisement that are in the video. If the advertisement doesn't follow the same conventions and look like it's advertising the music video than it's not going to fit in with the rest of my project.

I'm going to look at some examples of advertisements to get some idea's for my own advertisement. I'll do a textual analysis on the advertisement to see which conventions it uses and to see which conventions I can use on my own advertisement.
My advert must have a main title (which will be the artist's name), a strap line, a image of the artist (this could either be the artist on their own or a still from the music video) and also it must have some other information on the advert which will tell the audience what the song is called and when the track is released as a MP3.

As well as getting some examples of real magazine advertisements, I'm going to make my own design for my advertisement. I'm going to make a few different designs to get some idea of what I want my advertisement to look like.

The conventions of a magazine advertisement are;
a main title (artist's name, CD title)
a main image.
a image of the album cover which is been advertised.
a release date for the CD.
a review of what a certain magazine says about the album.
a magazine advertisement is usually the actual CD cover of the song.
